Land Of This Guy

The second comic strip I sent in for publication to Mountain Xpress starred the “old man” character as the outsider looking in on Asheville’s “freaky” people and positions. It also addressed some local news stories about the freaky people in the surrounding rural counties.

It was followed up by the third comic I ever did for MX, and that strip also incorporated a viral news item from the time:
